Ed Zackery! and once HD programming is available via download from the net with the option for commercial or commercial free, I'll have my second medium. I'll be paying for internet anyway, so might as well get some HD from it.

Would have preferred Cable to Satellite but our cable provider maxed out at 10 HD channels. Nothing worse than being in a bad cable neighborhood. So it's DSL for Internet and Satellite for TV.

I have had Dish for years now and couldn't be happier!! Picture quality is very good. The DVR beats Direct easily. I can't stand the bad menu handling and lousy colors of the menu. I let my Inlaws have Direct, I am sticking with Dish.

I don't pay for my HD. Here in canada, starchoice satellite took it upon themselves to offer almost 25 HD channels (out of 28) for completely free. Now that's a provider! Not to mention they have world class customer service! Why anyone would go with bell is beyond me.

Im also a member of hbits.org. Seriously people its not hard to get in. Just ask for an invite like I did on a file sharing site and you will get it (signups are closed now so you need to wait however). Also, there are other sites.
Ive been doing the bit torrent thing for a couple years now. I refuse to watch cable tv anymore. I mean my parents still subscribe to it, they will never grasp the concept of torrents and computers. I just cant watch it however because of commericals. Once you watch your shows commercial free, you cant go back. And taking a minute to FF through your commercials on a DVR is the same, its an inturuption. I also dont like how you cant choose what you want to watch and when on tv. You guys wait for x oclock to catch x show. Well I browse a website and pick whatever show I want to watch, and watch it. I dont waste my time waiting for commercials to pass, watching shows that I have no interest in, and I watch tv when I want, not when Fox prime time wants me to watch. Internet forever.

I have DirecTV and use that for all national HD channels. I use OTA for my local HD reception because DirecTV's delivery of local signals still sucks with audio issues on several channels.

Most of us UK based fools get ours beamed from Space direct from a space station maned by monkeys(I know that makes no sense, monkeyed by monkeys).

Cable. I'd have already opted for FiOS -- it's available in my area and even houses right down the street have it already -- but I live in an apartment complex that isn't wired, and all its utility wiring is underground. So until I move, I'm stuck with Comcast.

Technically speaking, OTA, cable, and internet -- OTA for the major networks (since I can do that in Windows Media Center, whose interface is better than my cable box's), then the cable box for everything not OTA (Discovery, ESPN, etc), and lastly the internet if I'm looking for back episodes of a show.
But I watch more OTA than the others, so I guess that's where my vote goes!

I responded OTA, but the reality is I use both OTA (for the best bitrate signal) and a PC I built using a MyHD MDP-130 tuner card to decode either OTA or the 'in the clear' QAM HD from Comcast. Unfortunately NBC11 (KNTV) is DTV VHF Channel 12 and it doesn't reach my house very well (and I use a UHF antenna).
BTW, the cool aspect of this card is that I can record the QAM or OTA transport streams and play them back later if I so desire or archive them onto another HD or DVD. Anyone that tells you that you can't record/playback HD to/from a DVD is simply wrong (or their stuck on 1.485Gb/s throughput for "pure" HD) - it's just the capacity is low for HD content.

I have cable service at the house but most of what I watch I download. Don't really use my DVR anymore, lol. I download and stream through my PS3 so my roommates who'd have no clue as to how to do that can use the DVR.

I get HD podcasts on my Apple TV, and stream TV shows on my MacBook. My PS3 pumps out Blu-ray in all its glorious 1080p goodness.

I put down satellite because I am doing that once Navigator hits my 8300HD boxes from TWC:
In addition to that, our TWC system in SE Wisconsin offers only 13 national HD channels outside of locals vs. DirecTVHD's over 5 DOZEN I will enjoy watching - very bad on TWC-Milwaukee's part.
FIOS is not available here, U-Verse in only very limited areas (banned in Kenosha County altogether) and so satellite services are the only way to really go for "more HD".

had cabelevision and their signal was great and HD was free (premium HD was based on subsicribtion), now outof the area and the cable provider is comcast which I dislike and their signal is not up to par. Now i am on FIOS and I think it is excelent. The only thing I would like to see from FIOS is more HD channnels.
