Actually if you want to get into details, BD-J / Profile 2.0 is *better* than what HD DVD offers. BD-J can do everything HDi can and more. Hell, you could probably implement an HDi runtime *in* BD-J.
But internet access in general is such a marginal feature that I really don't see what the big deal is about.
