Under normal circumstances I'd have no intentions of getting rid of my HD-A3. Ever since I bought it, I've come to the realization that I just don't have time to sit down and enjoy it, unfortunately. But if a chain in the U.S. did something like this, *particularly* one that donated my HD-A3 to charity, that would be a good excuse for me to go purple regardless of whether or not I think I have time to enjoy it.
But what are the chances of BB or CC doing something honorable like this? Pfft. Zero. It's a pity, really.
I thought that was only if the original unit was purchased through CC. Mine was not. Besides, if my HD-A3 will end up in a landfill, I'd rather keep it and get a PS3 later on.

Circuit city is offering a trade in program right now though.
