Digital realignment in Ohio could wreak havoc on TWC DVRs
Although Time Warner has been handing out heaps of HD channels in the state of Ohio here lately, some subscribers could face a few headaches in the coming days. As of this week, the carrier is realigning its digital channels in order to "create a uniform lineup across all of its systems, including those it acquired from Adelphia." Unfortunately for customers, this means that they'll have to reprogram their DVR to record shows / series after the changes occur, and worse, it could affect some of the content already on there. When asked if the change would erase stored programs, a TWC spokesman (unsurprisingly) replied: "We're not sure." Weirder still, the company has actually gone so far as to post a how-to guide of transferring saved television shows from your DVR onto another medium (VHS, DVD, etc.), and it's encouraging subscribers to do so to ensure they don't lose any content. Um, thanks? [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family]

OK, say what you want, but you have to give them points for being honest.

Wow what a surprise...guess that is what happens when you use 4 yr old equipment with 5 yr old software huh...

this is a joke, right?
screw honesty, when the question is "is the change you are about to make going to screw over and royally p*ss off millions of customers?", the correct answer to the question MUST at least be "we are testing that right now"
a) they should really fix this before launching
b) do their channels really appreciate that they are guiding their customers to transfer their content to fixed media??? while that ability is there, I dont think HBO really wants more people to know how to get sopranos onto their hard drives
c)click on the link: there is a picture of two asshats saying "i think channels should be grouped together" to which TWC replies " we think like you think". huh, what? no one thinks like that. why lie and tell me that i think that, it just makes you look like a dick, really

Honest or not. It just is not acceptable. I have Time Warner here in San Diego and they and the equipment are terrible. Cox and DirecTV have far better options for San Diego. Don't have a choice to go with Cox, so need to look at DirecTV. Or I may go back to TiVo if I stick with TWC (they need to expand their HD line-up though).

TWC & My Moto Moxi Box dont play nice anymore since this change!! Alot of my channels are now fucked up and the dvr is cracking out and when I called tech support to tell those dumb asses what happened when you just slap shity code together...they said that the issue is only with all moxi boxes and the only way to fix this would be to swap out my box for some lamo ass other moto box with no moxi software and I was like screw you!! You couldent pay me to take one of thier other shity boxes!! I will be waiting for a fix cause even though my moxi is alittle old, the UI is the best on the market....even better then Tivo!!
