I wouldn't have HD through cable. Too much compression degrades the picture. Satellite HD is the way too go! Better picture, and a greater selection of channels.

its better not to generalize. Your cable maybe bad with Shaw but not with other cable companies. With Comcast cable the video is quiter good here although the selection is quite limited.
