Toronto Blue Jays to get 144 games in HD this season
No sooner than we get wind of the Huskers' plans to air a handful of its upcoming games in HD, along comes word that Blue Jays fans in Canada will be treated to a whole slew of its matchups courtesy of Rogers Sportsnet. Reportedly, the station will broadcast the season opener followed by around 99 more games on "all four Sportsnet channels and Sportsnet HD." Better still, the rest of the club's games will be carried (in HD, no less) by CBC and TSN, meaning that all 144 televised Blue Jays games will indeed be in high-definition. If only the Orioles / Nationals were so lucky...

im not really sure if your trying to be funny and failed miserably, or if your just dumb. 144 blue jays fans, are you serious. we have a whole country behind our team, why do you think these companies are able to broadcast every game in hd. I dont see that happening in the states.

You don't see it happening in the states?!!? Clearly you've been living under a rock. In fact, both NY teams not only get nearly all their games in HD, they each have their own TV station.

so you just confirmed it for me. thanks. the wealthiest teams in the league dont have ALL of their games in HD. and the Blue Jays do. again, thanks.
Prey521 @ Feb 25th 2008 4:49PM
The Yankees have ALL of their games in HD and their own channel. The Mets only have their home games in HD and they also have their own channel. Being a diehard Mets fan, I wish that they'd broadcast all games in HD and not only the home games.
With that said, yes, I was going for the funny and succeeded...just because you lack a sense of humor and got your butt hurt doesn't make it any less funny.

YES!
Haha whatever man. Tons of Jays fans... they have just taken so long to be a good team again it just seems that way.
Not since 1993 has there been so much excitment about the Jays. They are taking the East this year if they stay healthy! Two years ago they just missed the post season, finsihing ahead of the Sox and just behind the Yanks, last year held their own for the injuries they had. They had the most dollars wasted per injured player in the league last year.
2008 is the return of the Jays!!!
I will be there for the April 18th and 19th games against the Tigers. Gonna rock!!!
Prey521 @ Feb 25th 2008 10:50AM
Taking the East? LMAO!
JayHDDVD @ Feb 25th 2008 7:50AM
Also,
We have had tons of BluJays HD since 2004. Last season they showed every home game in HD and every games VS the Yanks and Sox. Then by late summer they started showing every road game in HD.
So this nothing entirely new.

Wow, I never realized that there was such a lack of baseball in HD. I guess I'm spoiled from living in the NY metropolitan area.
JayHDDVD @ Feb 25th 2008 10:07AM
Yeah I hear ya.
I guess huge baseball markets get the HD.
And don't be fooled anyone... The Bluejays are massive in Canada.

Astros are also going 100% HD

Is this really big news??? Cubs and White Sox are going to be 100% HD as well....
Ryan Waddell @ Feb 25th 2008 12:05PM
Great! 144 games in HD, to watch them finish 3rd in the division behind NY and Boston. And that's if they have a GOOD season.
Grammar freak @ Feb 25th 2008 5:53PM
They should bring back the old uniforms first.
