Brando's Laic HDMI cables are oh-so-colorful
Tired of overpriced and / or totally plain HDMI cables? Fret not, as Brando's looking to make your setup entirely more vivid with its Laic Colorful HDMI cables. These v1.3b-compliant cords are available in purple, green, black, white, red and orange and even boast 24k gold-plated tips (astounding, we know). Sure, $19 for a 1.5-meter cable is still a tad on the high side, but hey, it's either this or a day wrestling with the paint can.

Or just buy colored ones from Monoprice for much much less...they have all the colors too.

Wow, we are really complaining about $19 for a 1.5m HDMI cable...
Considering we buy it once, and keep it for a long time, if you are in need of a colored cable, its a genuine bargain compared to the countless thousands the rest of your rig cost.
What is the absolute, unrelenting fetish with ultra-mega-cheap cables? Sure, $150 for a Monster isn't good, but complaining about $19 vs. ~$5 for something that may serve a very real purpose for many years, come on.

Why not if $19 is still 4 times too high?

I'm a price-to-quality ratio believer, but I tried the ultra cheap HDMI cables and they really do a good job. You're right though, $19 is not outrageous. Is there there any proof the Brando cables deliver a higher quality picture and sound? The Brando's are 1.3b, I have no idea what HDMI version the cheap cables are.
What does 1.3b even mean? b=what?

I like colors, but WAY better deals on HDMI cables here: http://www.firefold.com/Categories/HDMI-Products.aspx
3-foot for $6.00, 6-foot for $9.00. Fast shipping too. So cheap you'll think they must be defective, but they are not. I use one for my high def DVD player, top quality - it's all digital. Don't go over 15 feet, that's an HDMI restriction no matter who makes them last I heard.

Great. Now all I need is a bright orange home theatre system to match.

Warning: Shameless plug for personal favorite brand ahead!
I prefer BlueJeansCable.com cabling. If it matters to you, the cable is made in America (although its still terminated in China), and their 24 AWG wiring has been proven now to reach up to 100ft without need for amplifying or repeating, thanks to being a bonded pair wire. It also carries a CM rating: higher than Monster's CL3 or CL2 ratings.
Plus they will actually show you their 1.3a certificates, not many others will.
All this and they are just $254 for 100 ft. Monster is $700 for 75 feet (and its questionable if it will even work that far). And its proven it will work for 100ft without signal loss.
3 feet is only $20, and if you want cheapo cables they offer those too, 3 ft is $3.75 for their 28 gauge chinese made HDMI cable. And they have tons of intermediate offerings too.
No cool colors, but then again, this stuff is just supposed to hide behind the TV....

At $19 for a 1.5 meter, it sure is a tiny bit steep. But they got lilac, for crying out loud!
Wanna know what steep is? I was in Radio Shack - buying those button size batteries - and this one poor guy was sold a $99 (sale special!) 2-meter Monster HDMI cable. The salesman told him it was the best investment he'd ever made for his HD TV. I told him to keep the receipt and do a little price comparison on-line and check out monoprice.
Don't know if he took my advice, though.
