The big sale on Amazon is for hd-dvd, that is why the graph looks the way it does. When the sale is over, as has been the pattern every time, the red graph drops to the lowest level of the chart. Blu ray has no sale right now at all and is still above the hd-dvd with a big 50% off sale.
I do agree with you on the player issue. Panasonics have had very few problems and the Sony stand-alones too. It's the Samsungs that are crap, so please don't give all of the manufacturers the bum log.
