They already charge $20,000 for a DVD system, and those are only 9GB at most. Blu-ray has discs 50GB in size. How much storage are they going to be able to offer? How are they going to get next gen audio codecs to work?

I don't think this is coming any time soon.

I don't think money and storage is a huge issue for people who buy these systems, as the price you quoted is already pretty absurd (although Kaleidescape is pretty kick ass).

I think this would be great if true. In the three houses I've been in that had Kaleidescape, every single TV that was hooked up to it was HD.

Thinking about it now, I wonder if they'd have to recable all of their houses to take advantage of this. Ouch!
