RFD inks carriage agreement with Comcast
If you've never heard of RFD-TV (Rural Free Delivery) -- the channel that aims to "serve the needs and interests of rural America and agriculture" -- don't be shocked. Particularly if you rely on Comcast for your programming needs. Nevertheless, the boutique station has finally landed a carriage deal with the aforementioned cable company that will allow it to appear in both standard-definition and high-definition. Whether or not anyone is actually enthused about receiving RFD HD, however, is another matter entirely.

Reading the previous, highly intelligent comments has prompted me to post. I am working on providing HD content for RFD, which is a fantastic media outlet for millions of individuals. Thanks EndgadgetHD for providing broad industry coverage.
P.S. posters, not all engadget readers live in 50 sq. ft. apartments in the city. Some of us enjoy clean air and rural living.

from my opinion i am somewhat confused by this. In a true Rural setting (on a farm) you cant get cable. So what the heck? This should be a dish thing.
I would know I i used to live in a Rural area!

Adam, I kid, but I love RFD. If only some of those old-timey country shows had been done on film instead of videotape, you could convert them.
And yes, bring on The Big Joe Polka Show in HD!!!

WELL, I MUST SAY THE PERSON WHO CALLED WE RURAL FOLK HICKS NEEDS TO REMEMBER A FEW THINGS BEFORE HE GOES SPOUTING OFF ABOUT US. GOD IS NOT MAKING ANY MORE DIRT AND HIS FOOD DOES NOT COME FROM A GROCERY STORE. IF WATCHING RFD MAKES ME A HICK SO BE IT. I WILL BE THE MOST PROUD AMERICAN HICK AROUND.
WE HICK FARMERS PUT FOOD IN HIS BELLY!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK RFD. WE LOVE YOUR STATION
