NFL still clamping down on churches for illegal Super Bowl parties

Restaurant and bar owners, fret not, you're free to broadcast tonight's matchup between the Giants and Patriots on a screen larger than life, but for churches, movie theaters, casinos and the like, throwing that Super Bowl XLII party is likely a no-no. After a well publicized tilt last year between the league and Fall Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis, it seems that Goodell and company aren't backing down from the 55-inch image restriction nor the stipulation that the big game cannot be used to "promote a message." According to a recent article at The Wall Street Journal, many venues are renaming the event, scaling it back or simply not having a single large gathering in order to stay within the guidelines. One more reason to just blow it out at your place, we guess.

God just will not pay his share to the NFL. Instead, this Christian construct needs to steal in the name of God. LOL

Oh I see. So they can broadcast it on regular antannae tv where I'm DAMN sure SOMEONE is watching it on thier bigscreen television but when someone chooses to put it on a tv in a church... Oh no that's a lawsuit!

That photo was from the Fall Creek Church LAST year. The Colts played the Superbowl on Feb 4th last year.

this is BS. if they dont want people to play it on thier TVs i recommend they dont turn it into a broadcast signal and then blast it out unencrypted into the air where it can be picked up by any old antenna. i suggest they make it pay per view and enjoy the results.

I don't get the whole Super Bowl in Churches thing anyway, but OK, if that's something to bring people in, I could care less. I don't see the problem with this. All these people are still going to see the Commercials on that large screen anyway. I think the NFL is getting to full of it's self. I'm almost at the point of saying screw all Pro Sports. They are all way over paid, So prices of everything skyrocket up and up. Is it really worth it?
