You know that
standalone HD package DISH Network announced just last month? No? Don't worry -- it won't be long before Frank Caliendo is shoving deets about it down your ear canal. Sure enough, DISH has inked a deal with the "star" of FrankTV to headline its latest multimedia marketing campaign. More specifically, Mr. Caliendo will be pushing the provider's newest HD channels, "DVR leadership" and the aforementioned HD only package as well. Of course, such a gig shouldn't be hard to pull off for this fellow -- after all, he's "been a DISH Network customer for years." Or is that just part of the act, too?

I hope they play these commercials every 90 seconds like they did for Frank TV during the MLB playoffs. I enjoyed that so much.

DVR Leadership?
Didn't they just lose their suit against Tivo? Aren't they in danger of not being able to have DVR service at all?

I would strongly suggest anyone interested to take a real close look
at the package offering and the real costs as they apply to
everyone's personal situation. This kind of reminds me of Naked DSL
where the cost was the same as if you had DSL and kept the phone
service.
Also, I wonder what the real consequences are with the DVR and TiVo
suits. Dish had an opportunity to get me as a subscriber, but they
were not offering what DirecTV and Comcast was offering, which was
two HD DVRs (four tuners) at no up-front cost. Tough love, I know,
but tough cookies as they lost.
