Do we smell a regional expansion brewing? Just days after hearing that Mediacom customers in Southern Illinois would be receiving
four new HD channels, it seems that those very same stations are heading northwest to Iowa. According to the latest Mediacom bill received by a tipster in Ames, Iowa, he too will be receiving FSN Midwest HD, TNT HD, TBS HD and CNN HD shortly (if not already). So, dear Midwesterners (that just so happen to rely on Mediacom), are
you seeing four new HD options pop up in your EPG? If so, shout out your location below -- here's to hoping this rollout is more widespread than previously assumed.
[Thanks, Jason C.]

I just signed up with Mediacom and they said it was coming to Columbia, Missouri in February too.

Mediacom just turned on 832 TBA, 835 TNT HD, 836 TBS HD, and 837 CNN HD in Ames, IA.
832 is just color bars for the moment.
836 TBS HD's intro is stretched 3x4 content, Home Improvement. That's less than stellar.
Why don't they ask their subscribers what we want? That's apparently too hard for them to figure out.

Still waiting on getting HD in our area from them (in Illinois). Thank God we have OTA and DirecTV

I live in Ames, IA too. All I see are TNT HD, TBS HD and CNN HD. One channel is just color bars. TBS HD is stretching standard def content to 16:9 and it looks awful.
Just for the record, Mediacom is probably the worst cable company ever.

I'm in Des Moines, IA, but haven't had time to check on the new channels.
I couldn't agree more about Mediacom being the worst cable company. I'd go satellite, but we have no Southern view of the sky where we can legally put a dish.

I'm in Cedar Rapids...just an hour or so east of Ames and I have nothing new on Mediacom for HD.
*Keeps dreaming*

Nothing new in Iowa City either...damn apartments that don't allow DirecTV

I live in Boone, IA (10-15 minutes west of Ames, IA) and I'm watching CNN HD (837) right now. channel 832 has no picture/audio, but it appears that Tivo thinks it's going to be a Fox Sports channel. I am getting an HD signal on TNT 835 and SD signal on TBS 836.
Now...just get the Big Ten Network added (in HD, please?) and I'll be happy enough for now. ;-)
