AT&T ends 2007 with 231000 U-verse subscribers
Make no mistake, the number 231,000 in and of itself isn't exactly valuable, but considering that AT&T is aiming to secure one million subscribers to its fiber-based U-verse service before this year comes to a close, it certainly comes into perspective. Just months ago, AT&T was reporting that it had 126,000 U-verse customers and was handling around 10,000 installs per week. Currently, the carrier is suggesting that it's over one-fourth of the way to its goal, but considering that "just" 12,000 installs per week are being done now, it's not exactly on track to hit that million. 'Course, if it keeps on rolling U-verse out to new markets at a furious pace, we suppose anything could happen, but it's not like the provider hasn't overshot estimates in the past.

AT&T Sucks...
It doesn't even offer it's 6Mbps DSL service in my area...
That's why I just switched to Comcast 8Mbps (fastest available in my area)

Make it work with my TiVO HD and I'll consider it seriously.

They might be able to get more subscribers if their computer systems actually had a clue about where the service was available at.
On both the website, and in talking to customer service, the service shows up as "available" if they use the main address to my apartment building. However, it shows up as "we're not sure" if the actual apartment number is entered as part of the address. They've been unable to tell me what this really means.
I'd be more than willing to switch to Uverse from my Time Warner here in LA, if only because they have seem to have figured out how to provide more HD channels.

One HD channel at a time per house. How 20th Century.

Just to let everyone know there is NO cable company that can GUARANTEE more than one HD stream into your home at a time. Therefore, despite what many of you think you are only watching ONE PROGRAM in HD at a time. You are only getting one stream of HD. Even if the channel says HD and you are getting a quality signal I highly doubt it's HD 720 and especially not 1080. Test the theory and prove me wrong. It doesn't matter which service you have. My U-verse picture clarity is great anyway and most people only have one HD tv in their home. Plus, do the kids really need to watch Spongebob in HD?.....
