Shortly after hearing that Central Texas would be getting a helping of new HD channels
later this month, we've now learned that KWKT-TV (a local FOX affiliate) will begin airing its own newscast tonight. Debuting on the same day as the 2008 State of the Union address, Fox News Central Texas will get its first show underway this evening at 9:30PM local time, but will move to 9:00PM going forward. Tonight's show will mark the station's first foray into local news since it began broadcasting in 1988, and while it won't yet be shown in high-definition, the entire newsroom is already HD-capable. So, what's the holdup, you ask? Just a digital switcher, which is "presently on order."

I can hardly wait to see what the knee-jerk conservatives here in Waco make of Fox-style reporting of their local goings-on. Sometimes it feels like everybody here is a Bill O'Reilly wannabee already.

Glad to see Fox news Locally.Look forward to see how they will cover the local news I hope they just report and not put their slant on it like some do.

Call me old fashion and I am. but if the Fox news isn't going to run out of the Waco news room I don't see me watching it.If as you put it I can watch CNN or the Fox new on cable well then that's what I will watch.Such a shame it won't be local.

The woman said "If you didn't watch the super bowl in HD this year, you will next year." That is just false reporting. The switch is to mandatory DIGITAL broadcasting, not high def. Not a good way to start out your venture into local news.

Are you serious...your lead story wasn't even about super bowl (which I could forgive). Your LEAD story was about a local bar?? And talk about in depth...menu, name dropping for the managers, future updates. Come on! And then a follow-up about the super bowl, followed by playboy bunnies...and then I changed the channel. Guess there wasn't anything else to report today from your news desk. Grow up, get real, get serious. I won't be tuning in again, that's for sure. Might as well watch something from Comedy Central. At least I can hope for a little political satire.....

My jaw was dropped during this broadcast - I am more than willing to help you out. Please ensure the camera is the eye level of the person being interviewed -- the camera should not be above nor below their head (shouldn't be looking up nor down). Your narration sounds like it was recorded on the b-roll. The footage was shakey and some shots didn't show/reveal any new info. Sorry -- Your local stories could use some work.
