The Weather Channel forecasts June 2 HD debut
It seems like ages since the appeal of the Weather Channel in HD first came up, but it looks like the wait may be drawing to an end. While we've been mildly sated by the upconverted programming and limited HD graphics, the network is finishing up construction of its new HD production facility this month. First up for the HD treatment are anchor programs "Your Weather Today" and "Evening Edition," slated for a June 2 HD debut. Distribution includes all six of the top HD-peddlers (Comcast, TWC, Charter, Cox, DirecTV and DISH), so most everybody that wants to can get in on the action. With HD trumping real life in the clarity department, "turn on the TV" could actually be better weather advice than "look out the window!"

And has anyone noticed that our nation is perfectly shaped for a HDTV?

Cox my ass. I'm still waiting for anything they've added since A&E and History. The NFL network they added was a game schedule drawn in MS Paint and they still can't tell me when anything's coming.
Northwest Arkansas is Cox's most overlooked service area. I want my shit now. DirecTV will have a new customer as soon as I get out of this apartment...

I can not wait for this. If the time ever arrives, I'd love to see some Hurricane coverage in HD (or at least 16:9 SD). I've been asking my cable company to add this for quite some time. I hope TWC does add it!

I have Weather Channel HD now. The studio stuff is still SD, but the weather maps they show with just music and no people on screen look great in HD.
