Jamo shows off R 907 dipolar speakers
In true high-end fashion, Jamo's bipolar R 907 speakers give you less for more. Just like we're seeing in the FPD market, the sexy in these babies becomes apparent when viewed from the side. Less cabinet gives you that so very svelte look. And why put in more drivers for dipolar radiation when the open baffle design gets the job done? Trust us, even though the 12-inch woofers and tweeter are different than those used on the bigger brother (and flagship) R 909, your high end cred will remain intact: you're getting the same midrange unit. "More affordable" doesn't mean "cheap," friends: $8999 per pair, in your choice of red or black.

$8,999 for a pair of speakers? Thats more than I spent for my entire Home Theater. HD Projector, 1kW 5.1 Surround Sound, Toshiba HD-A30 HD-DVD, PS3, FiOS HD DVR.
Heck, $9k was the down payment for my first house!

Doesn't the open design partly defeat the point of buying speakers? Isn't this more about looks than actual sound quality?

Mike,
That's a bargain compared to what Transparent Cable sells a pair of 8' speaker wire.
Try $24,0000 for the privilege.

Sorry. Meant $24,000

Looks like a Logitech computer speaker...only bigger.

I would like to think that they sound better.

I'll say that is actually a pretty good deal considering what you are getting. These speakers would give you a lifetime of enjoyment, unlike some POS thing that you will replace 10 times in your life.

A good deal? At 9K a pair? Sorry, but most high-end AV gear, especially speakers and cables, are pure snake oil.

These speakers are obviously designed for someone who doesn't have children or pets. All I need is a completely exposed set of drivers that cost me a bundle getting kool-aid dumped over them... or peanut butter... or...

There's something very wrong with these speakers. For deep bass you need very large baffles; these speakers have almost no baffles -- and that is very baffling.
