TWC in LA hasn't added an HD Channel (except one OTA local) since adding TBS and TNT in October. TWC, could you please move a bit west and hook us up in North East Ohio! We have a total of 13 "free" HD channels, and two of those are PBS, which show the exact same content! The last channel we got was TBS in October. Not only worthless as an HD channel, but that's all that was added for us! It makes me sick to see other markets getting more channels. Directv looks better and better everyday! Come on Time Warner!

Dave Perkins

Comments on Time Warner Cable brings more HD to Queens, New York

It should be noted that the reason TWC is able to offer this many HD channels in Staten Island and Woodside, Queens is because they recently embarked on a bandwidth reclamation project on those two systems. There are very few analog channels broadcast on those systems now, something less than 30 analogs.

Manhattan, Brooklyn/SE Queens and the Bronx still have their full complement of analogs (around 90) and consequently have about 10 fewer HD channels than we do in SI and Woodside.

The discrepancy among systems in the same city is the cause of a lot of chagrin among residents of the HD-deprived boroughs, which could be a factor as the City re-evaluates TWCs franchise agreement which expires in the coming months.

UnnDunn

Comments on Time Warner Cable brings more HD to Queens, New York

BTW, while I really AM happy for my brothers and sisters in Woodside and SI, this isn't all that "new." SI has had many more HD channels since late summer. Woodside got theirs in November.

But the REAL issue is that in both SI and Woodside, TWC customers have available a 10% overall discount on their rates. In Manhattan, there is NO DISCOUNT AVAILABLE. We PAY MORE and GET LESS. From the exact same bunch of crooks.

Many of us have started referring to them as Crime Warner. I wish we would get SciFi HD before the final season of Battlestar Galactica begins in March.
