Paradigm reveals SIG-LCR 5 and SA-LCR 3 in-wall speakers

PARADIGM EXPANDS ITS "REFERENCE" HIGH-END IN-WALL LINEUPS WITH TWO FULLY INTEGRATED DESIGNS
SIG-LCR 5 and SA-LCR 3 are stunning testaments to the progress in-wall speakers have made in the custom installation category.
Ontario, Canada – January 21, 2008 –- Paradigm Electronics Inc., an international leader in speaker design and manufacturing, today added two new in-wall "LCR" speaker systems to its ever-expanding line of high-end custom install products. Unbeatable placement flexibility and premium component parts (including design and technology from the company's award-winning freestanding Signature and Studio Series) allow SIG-LCR 5 and SA-LCR 3 to turn any wall into a dynamic performer.
"Our design team enjoyed the challenge of producing in-wall speakers that perform at very close to the same level as our award-winning floorstanding and bookshelf models," said Paradigm's Marketing Manager, Mark Aling. "Their performance is a stunning testament to the progress in-wall speakers have made in the custom installation category, and we're very pleased that Paradigm is at the forefront of this incredible acoustic evolution."
Fully Integrated Design
The SIG-LCR 5 system is designed for those who crave no-compromise cutting-edge sound within a minimalist aesthetic. A recent addition to the newly introduced Signature Custom Series, its six state-of-the-art drivers offer the ultimate in high-end sound for music and home theater-including the most serious output levels yet from a speaker system installed in a wall.
The 4-driver SA-LCR 3 is a unique addition to Paradigm's very popular "Reference" SA Series. It is designed for music and movie enthusiasts who demand the award-winning level of performance delivered by freestanding Paradigm® Reference Studio speakers, but want their sound to fit a minimalist aesthetic. Just like its even more powerful sibling, the SIG-LCR 5, the SA-LCR 3 is ideal for those who, for purely practical reasons, don't have the space for larger freestanding models but refuse to compromise on sound quality.
Both speaker systems offer fully integrated designs that are critically braced by the corresponding Paradigm® backbox (required, sold separately).
Why a Backbox?
• The Paradigm® Backbox is required support for the speaker mounting frame and baffle assembly;
• In concert with Paradigm's IMS/SHOCK-Mount™ system, which is incorporated into both speakers, the rigid high-strength design of the backbox removes any opportunity for unwanted resonances or standing waves to color sound;
• The backbox ensures optimal volume, improves overall sound quality and promotes deep bass response while reducing distortion to inaudible levels;
• Since these are very high-power designs, the backbox also helps reduce acoustic bleed-through to adjacent rooms.
The Ultimate in Placement Flexibility
Three LCR speakers can be positioned vertically in a wall behind a perforated screen, or all three can be placed around an on-wall display with the center channel installed into the wall horizontally. When used in a horizontal orientation, the tweeter/midrange module in both models can be rotated 90° prior to installation. This ensures ultra-wide dispersion both on- and off-axis, as well as precise timber matching-a hallmark of all freestanding Paradigm® Reference Signature and Studio speakers. The precision and accuracy of the unified tweeter/midrange drive assembly and the sophisticated "Reference" crossover design ensure this rotation does not compromise the dispersion pattern between drivers and baffle, thereby preserving sonic integrity.

Now those are some in-wall speakers that I would give up free-standing speakers for (as long as the walls/room was built well, and I could still have a big subwoofer).

Paradigm is a awesome speaker company, solid speakers from their from their entry level cinema or monitor line to their higher end studio or signature line. They make great speakers at affordable prices, on average they seem to be cheaper than most main stream brands. Part of the reason for that is they do just about, if not everything in house. From making the speaker, including the casted speaker frame, to the electronics and speaker cabinet, which can bring the savings to the customer. They also own Anthem, which if you are looking for some higher end amps and pre-amps, again rock solid gear with cheaper prices due to most of the work done in house.
I currently have their Studio 60s for my fronts, 40s for the rear, the CC whatever for my center and a PS-1000 for my sub. Maybe down the road I will upgrade to the signature line, but there will be some heavy competition between the B&W Nautilus lineup. I do want their Servo-15 for a sub, but that will have to wait until we are out of this apartment and in a house.

Man I love my Paradigm speakers. I started with their entry level speakers, moved up to their monitor series, and now own thier reference studio series, including a pair of studio 100's for my fronts, studio 20's for my rears, the CC-570 center, and the seismic 12 subwoofer. I get use out of them on a daily basis, both from music and movies, some television... I drive them with a denon receiver as a preamp, and the anthem signature P5 amp.
I have listened to paradigm's in-wall speakers, and I couldn't believe that in-wall speakers could sound that good. I'd recommend them to anyone.
