Mounting HDTVs on the wall is all the rage, but it isn't the easiest thing in the world and even when you employee a professional
to run power and video cables up the wall, sometimes the structure of you wall just isn't right for the optimal placement. Cheif's new HDTV wall mount is designed for exactly that problem. Rather than install additional supports in the wall, the mount is designed to be mounted on the existing studs and then will slide in either direction so you can center the set in just the right spot. No word on the price, but it should be available this summer.

This would be perfect! However... I think I've seen these before, wall-mounts that move side-to-side...
Nonetheless, these are nice and it would make sure that your TV is centered correctly.

The $40 mount at monoprice does the same thing. No news here.

The wall mount I bought could do this. This was about 5 months ago.
Can't remember the make, but it wasn't an expensive one and I put it up myself, just needed a friend to lift the tv in place.

How is this news? The wall mount I just put up for my parents does this. Bought it from Costco.

Ummm yeah. The large mount we got for my dad's 50" Plasma could do this as well. We purchased it at least 6 months ago.
I always suggest purchasing the articulating one instead of the flush mount anyways. It can go to either side quite a ways and swivel to either side. It would have worked really well in my dad's room, but he was adamant about not wanting it. I think it was a cost thing. Now his main viewing spot is from the couch in the corner of the room, and the TV looks directly at the center wall. That other mount would have been nice...

i bought a wall mount at Sam's a year ago and it does the same thing. It's a pretty standard thing at this point.

This one slides side to side beyond the normal range. Chief mounts are very nice. You would probably have to install one before you realize why they are different.
