HD VMD players officially shipping to customers

In case anyone is still awaiting the entry of a third competitor into the HDM fray, HD VMD announced today at CES that it is finally shipping. At the no longer unprecedented $199 price point, we can order one of PCRush's 10,000 players or from NMEStore.com. All orders in January come with two free movies, Mother Ghost and Cutting Room. With limited retailer and content provider support, we're not sure HD VMD will find a foothold in the HDM market, unless despondent red fans are already looking for a new 30GB flag to march under. The multiple-layered red laser underdog has an ETA of January 15th, who wants to jump in?

I don't know why this is releasing, I don't have any faith in this product at all. Who know though, it may do good, but i'm sorry i just don't see this lasting 6 months

i think the technology has a good future as an optical disc/gaming machine extra feature. Sadly though, with Warner Bros. & New Line supporting only Blu, it's highly unlikely other studios will financially invest in this technology. Sad though. I hoped the Wii2 would use this optical drive for its DVD reader and newer games.

Does it come with rampant DRM such as a compromised copy protection system and a useless region code system ? If not, there's no way hollywood studios will embrace this.

What's next HVD? hitting the market...Micheal Bay might want to make another conspricy how microsoft is paying off HD VMD to make sure direct download comes out on top...
Come on HVD, join the party, it seems everyone is at this point. Warner Brothers switching to one side meaning less confusion my ass. When will this STOP!!!???

...whatch out yall, il be releasing my own format next month too. i cant risk not getting a piece of the market share of the money in the hi def arena! the format will be called..."JF-HDVAASFTABRB" That mean Jango Fett-High Definition Video And Audio Storage For Those Against Blu-Ray Bullshit.! Preorders will begin in july and il prosmise il throw in 55 FREE movies with the purchase of a new player and a free hot dog too. Also it will be pretty cheap too at 25 dollars. So how many are with me now that blu ray seems so astronomicaly high? Come on yall! lets get those anti blu ray rants going! oh and yeah by the way its region free and no DRM so you can pirate those movies all you want! :)
