Buy two HD DVDs, get a Blu-ray flick free?
There's not many instances where a picture truly is worth a thousand words. This may very well be one of those times. Oh, and just so you know, the image was snapped in a Sydney, Australia Myer store just this week, and no, we haven't been able to confirm which camp was more embarrassed.

Well, this has nothing to do with either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. This was simply a mistake of a clown retail worker who wasn't paying attention. That HD-DVD case is inside the security case they use at retailers like Best Buy to put in high-priced items like PS3 and Xbox games, as well as the more expensive movies. Besides, right on the sticker read "Buy 2 Blu-Ray movies..." It makes no mention of HD-DVD other than the HD-DVD movie being put in the wrong case.
Move along. Nothing to see here. Come on Engadget, nothing worth posting for New Years' Celebrations? We still love you though.

they probably had so many blu-bogo stickers lying around already from previous bogos..
still funny, considering all the mistakes in general lately (wrong labeling, hd disc in blu set, 1080i disc instead of 1080p, and incorrect framing)

HD media is virtually non exsistant here in Aus. Often read some clowns saying how blu ray is so dominant here. It is i suppose, it has about 90% of about .0005% market share, so if that's market dominance, hooray for blu ray.
This article means zip, the photographer would be one of about 3 fanboys nationwide.

So bluray has sold 63 discs to hd-dvd's 7 and thats supposed to be dominance. heh.

But then their little geek hearts will break if they don't keep reminding themselves(and others) that what they spend an assload of money on is better then the one they they didnt.

I wish that Amazon would have a BOGO offer that ignores the format war and offers a free Blu-ray disc with the purchase of an HD DVD or vice versa. This benefits those of us who have both types of players!
tony @ Dec 30th 2007 12:58PM
@patrick
I agree. I have both a HDdvd player and a bluray player. I enjoy both formats equally. Granted right now bluray has quite a bit of better older movies for release, but who knows, hddvd could pull one over and release a hugh release schedule. I just wish one of them would release neverending story 1&2 on one of the formats, wahhhh
jango fett @ Dec 30th 2007 3:46AM
both suck to me
Craig WB @ Dec 30th 2007 6:07PM
I wonder how many people picked that up read the fine print and put it down to go and pick up 3 blu-ray titles.
