That may be true yes, but also remember that the Blu camp is reporting a super-healthy sales/adoption increase. And even if those claims by the Red [HD-DVD] camp were true or not, the eventual demise of ye-olde DVD is now obvious.
Absolutely agree--almost every retailer (Amazon excluded) is announcing that they are going to miss their estimates for Q4 sales. Analysts need to make their bold statements to get press and keep bread (gold-plated, mind you) on their tables. Rational folks realize that a single-point statistic doesn't necessarily describe a trend.

A 4% decrease in DVD sales means the end of DVD?? I somehow doubt that. That 4% decrease is probably the result of the current state of the economy.
