Sure, you just won't be able to watch everything on the disc you paid for if you only have a 1.0 format player.

Do you know how many DVD's I have that contain extra stuff that I haven't watched?....all of them...

I watch some extra stuff, like bloopers and some of the documentary material if it is a decent movie, but 99.9% of the time, I bought a movie that just happened to have "bonus" stuff on it.
