And please stop encouraging the usual trolls who imagine this to be as important as a presidential debate.

The real issue is Universal being taken to task for such a shoddy release of one the most anticipated box sets out there. I can't imagine the negative impact the "Heroes" box set would've had if released in a similar fashion. The whole thing is very reminiscent of Halo 3's Limited Edition debacle (I was very lucky; my disks were fine), but like that game, this unfortunate BG news sounds like people in the production department fell asleep at the wheel.

Paul Fernandez

Comments on Battlestar Galactica: Season 1 HD DVD arriving sans quality?

There's a big difference between getting the wrong product ... and having a product being more easily damaged because it's more poorly made.

HD DVD discs can simply just scratch easier then Blu-ray, so this is something you're gonna have to deal with if you support HD DVD.

That and being outsold on weeks like that ending December 9th 76:24 :)

BBG

Comments on Battlestar Galactica: Season 1 HD DVD arriving sans quality?

Almost right. Sensitivity to scratches has more to do with the amount of data stored in the area that was scratched. Though deep or angled scratches can cause loss of tracking too.
