LCD displays suck and the picture quality is the worst, even worse than CRT. Crushed blacks (nearly no shadow detail) and muddy dark grey for blacks...horrible for viewing in the dark.

Plasma displays are far superior - particularily Pioneer's Kuro line of plasmas which have a true 15,000:1 STATIC contrast ratio. Blows away any and all flat panels on the market including these crappy overpriced NEC LCDs and those from Samsung and Sony.
