I just decided to leave my Tivo and get DirecTV HD service (who no longer plays nice w/Tivo)... Is this ruling going have an impact on DirecTV fake-Tivo box owners?
No, DirecTV has a licensing agreement with TiVo that covers their use of the patents even on the non-TiVo boxes.
