Although WealthTV has
been available in select areas for awhile now, the channel is finally making its way down to the Bayou. Reportedly, Charter Communications added the station to the HD lineup in 11 Louisiana cities, including Thibodaux, Bourg, Slidell, Hammond, Marksville, New Roads, Pointe Coupee, Opelousas, Jennings, Church Point and Eunice. Unfortunately, Charter failed to mention if it would be rolling WealthTV out to other areas, but as we always say, we'll take any
additions that we can get.

Must be a slow news day for EngadgetHD...................
Great, a channel that will no doubt promote more $30k millionaire behavior.............

Can there be a more worthless channel?
Kennyb123 @ Nov 28th 2007 3:00PM
Yes, there could be a more worthless channel. This channel actually has some interesting shows on travel hot spots, among other things. It's nice to watch in HD. Unfortunately, with the unbelievable HD picture I get from FiOS TV, WealthHD does not live up to the other channel's standards. They are going to need to invest in better cameras.

This is a great addition to this area. An area where there are maybe 12 customers with HDtvs. Why doesn't Cox or Comcast add some HD content to the New Orleans area. Please let me pay extra for 10 channels, 3 of those are stretch-o-vosion. sorry if i got off topic.
gamedude420 @ Nov 28th 2007 6:03PM
comcast doesn't even have service in new orleans. We only have cox, its that or the dish, thats it.
kmarsh_2001 @ Nov 28th 2007 4:03PM
Great... they can't give me ABC HD, but I can get this. No, you CAN'T get more pretentious than this.
soilentgreen @ Nov 28th 2007 4:25PM
Maybe The FOX affiliate in new orleans could fix their hd antenna, i mean it has been 2 years since katrina, fox8 get with it, the saints aren't blowing out everybody, but your sd signal is garbage.
andypersaud18 @ Nov 29th 2007 10:43AM
one of the least wealthiest states gets a hd channel about wealth?
soilentgreen @ Nov 29th 2007 9:20AM
i said the area. in la place we have comcast, which use to be timewarner. if you want to watch fox, grab an antenna and aim it to baton rouge. the owners of fox in nola are trying to sell the station, not improve the content for their customers.

soilent, have you ever been around Bourg? Do you realize how many oil-rich people live in that area? They have a Full-Service Airport filled with Private Jets. Ferrari's, Porche's, Maserati's, Lambo's, and Bentley's can be seen every day. There are also many many multi-million dollar homes. Piece's of land sell for over $400K in certain parts of that area. I have a customer that is 40 and has over $40 Million and is 100% self-made. Trust me, gadgets abound...

First Wealth for the uneducated does not mean just money. Second it is funny that Engadget owned by Time Warner chooses to attack an Independent Channel after it has notified them that they are going to file a discrimination complaint with the FCC
This is why Time Warner can control what we see ,hear and read and why they will never allow us to pay for just the channels we want. If that ever happened we would see if Wealthtv was the worst channel ever or will beat some of the channels owned by Time Warner. Let's let the free market deceide instead of Time Warner .
JeffDM @ Dec 12th 2007 8:59PM
The story itself doesn't attack WealthTV, and Engadget HD editors didn't attack WealthTV. Just the people visiting this site. I think it takes a ignorant douchebag to confuse the two.
