"We can also safely assume that Sherk, and the recent influx of HD DVD players, wasn't enough to make a dent in Blu-ray's new releases and recent price cuts."
Didn't the "recent influx of HD DVD players" happen this past week? Meaning, 11/19-11/25 (well, mainly 11/23-11/25). So, the Nielsen VideoScan numbers for the week ending 11/18 doesn't actually take into account the "influx," right?
I'd imagine the "influx of HD DVD players" would be reflected in the next Nielsen VideoScan numbers (namely, the one for this week). But, of course, Blu-ray's "Live and Die Hard" should have done pretty well too!

I'm a little confused by this comment:
"We can also safely assume that Sherk, and the recent influx of HD DVD players, wasn't enough to make a dent in Blu-ray's new releases and recent price cuts."

He's talking about the recent influx of the $99 HD-DVD players most likely.
And that didn't help them win a week either.
