I do not mean to poke fun at anyone, but I am curious to know how many people in India have an HDTV, and what percentage of their population do they represent.

Why Are U Assuming Indian People Can't Afford HDTV's Do You Really Want Me See How Much Of A Spoilt Brat You Are. Don't Hype To India Just Because It Looks Poor Doesn't Mean It Is. People Have HDTV's But There Ain't HD Channels And I Don't Know Why Your Trying To Hype About India Look At Your Life GhostDoggy. People Have Better Things To Do Then Watch TV All Day, People Have Something Called "Jobs" Every Heard Of One They Work Much Harder Then You To Earn There Money. Jd

HDTvs are only a niche market in india today. obvious reasons are, not enuff content/channels. but the most significant reason is need. there isnt just enough of a need at the moment for people to switch over to HD.
So this move by prasar bharti is a first. hopefully other channels will catch up someday.
I would give it atleast 5-8 years for HDTV to me main stream.
