While receiving
The Weather Channel HD may not send everyone into jubilant fits of celebration, we're pretty sure Charter Communications' customers won't be kvetching about additional HD options. Apparently, any
Charter customer that can currently receive HD programming will be blessed with the new channel, and Becky Powhatan, executive vice president for distribution and business affairs and general counsel for The Weather Channel, also insinuated that customers in every region could benefit from the HD enhancements to the popular "Local on the 8s" segment. So, dear Charter customers, have you seen the channel go live?

@ keith
How is it?? is it really HD or is it like CNN HD where like 5% of it is HD?
keith @ Nov 8th 2007 2:03PM
@DeadPlasmaCell
It depends on the show. Mostly primetime shows and local on the 8s. They don't strech SD content. Even SD looks much better than the analog version.

I'm actually one of those people that would be running around the house screaming "WE GOT TWC IN HD WE GOT TWC IN HD!" Same goes for CNN. Those two channels are honestly on my TV the majority of the time.

When will Time-Warner Cable add channels like TWC HD and CNN HD (which it owns) ?!?

Wow, Charter Communication is again holding up the back in HD coverage. As other cable and satellite companies are exploding in HD programming, Charter is just sitting back watching their consumer numbers drop. Why cant St. Louis have more cable television competition?

Charter, in one of its news releases, has also said they'll have 100 HD TV Channels by end of this year. That means they've got just a month and a half to add nearly 80 channels! This is a big claim. Do you think there is any truth to this and Charter really will add nearly 80 more HD channels in just 45 days?

Yes, TWC HD appeared on Thanksgiving Day. The only HD seems to be the shows "Epic Conditions" and "Weather Ventures." The Local On The 8's is showing the national version (what you would see on satl) It is in HD though and looks great!
