Superstation WGN going HD in November
A keen eyed observer at DBSTalk.com noticed that Superstation WGN updated their FAQ and the last question now asks when it'll go HD. According to the FAQ, it will be available to cable and satellite providers in November. Unfortunately, they don't say what providers or even what will be in HD. We'd be more excited, but with all the new so called HD channels launching lately -- with almost no HD -- these announcements are being more and more meaningless.

Granted they will not have much HD but this is appropiate because I believe They proceeded TBS and TNT in the infant days of cable.

They will probably broadcast Cubs games in HD but stretch syndicated TV series like TBS does.

Comcast in the Chicagoland area already has this. I get screwed because I'm in Rockford and have Insight's weak HD line-up. Hope things will change when Comcast takes over.

I get this station off of my antenna and was suprised to notice that a rerun of Two and a Half Men off of WGN was broadcast in HD. You don't typically see non primetime shows broadcast on network stations. I was pretty impressed!

All I know is that I have local stations broadcasting in both analog and digital, and even when the content is not HD, I ALWAYS watch the digital broadcast. Often times, the analog is completely unwatchable and the digital is pristine. I'll take "HD" broadcast any day, regardless of how much actual HD content they have.

The local broadcast of WGN has been HD for some time now, all the CW shows have been airing in HD for nearly 2 years on their air and the Cubs games have been HD for a while too.

WGN-9 and SuperstationWGN are different channels. Apparently, WGN-9 has been HD-digital for a while now for Chicago area viewers.
SuperstationWGN is what the people not in Chicago get. We get to see a few Cubs/Sox games and maybe a couple of Bulls games. We do not get the CW programming. In Philly, we have our own CW channel.
