HD DVD and Blu-ray releases on October 23rd, 2007
This week might be some kind of record with almost 15 titles for each format. Blu-ray did have a few more and as a result has pulled within three of HD DVD. Next week is the big week that Blu-ray pulls back ahead since we removed the Paramount titles; but don't get too excited, 'cause many of the new titles aren't Hollywood blockbusters. Back to this week, both camps have a few exclusives, but Blu-ray has a few day-and-date exclusives like Mr. Brooks, Hostel: Part II, Home of the Brave and The Company. Warner continues to roll out classic catalog titles like Eye Wide Shut, 2001, and The Shining. Lastly, Universal has the Al Pacino classic Carlito's Way. As great of a week as this is for both camps, Blu-ray fans are no doubt waiting for next week when Spider-Man 3 hits the shelves.HD DVD 322 vs Blu-ray 319 *

I can't wait until my 2001 HD DVD pre-order comes. I've been waiting for this since I got into this format war.

Meet the Robinsons is a title worth mentioning, day-and-date too. Wish I had a blu-ray and/or HD DVD player

I'm sure meet the robinsons will look great but most likely I'll get this on DVD so my Daughter can watch it on any dvd player she wants instead of being bound to the blu-ray player. If it was a combo disc, that would be a different story.

I haven't heard of ANY of those Blu-Ray day-and-date movies... Of course, I haven't heard of either of the Carlito's Way movies, nor Inside Man, so....
I can't wait for 2001 though!

No offense, but where have you been :)
These aren't massive blockbusters, but many of these movies are very popular.
"Meet the Robinsons" is the movie where the T-Rex goes "I have a big head, and little arms!"
That cracked me up so much on the commercials.

Just got the 360 add-on drive, so I'm dual-format again (Currently have the PS3, used to have an HD-A1). Best Buy's deal on Heroes was just too good to pass up (You get season 1 for free when you buy the add-on, plus King Kong's in the Box, PLUS you still get the 5 free by mail).
It's nice not to have to worry about what's on what format. Now we just have to sit back and wait for one to win decisively so the rest of the consumer market will jump in.

Motorhead: Stage Fright, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and Full metal Jacket all on HD DVD. I've got them all on pre-order.

It's worth mentioning the Jack Ryan collection that SHOULD be released tomorrow except for packaging errors. Fortunately, walmart.com is too big to care and shipped me the set despite the recall. Can't wait to watch Patriot Games and Hunt for Red October in HD.

what the $&@ was Mr.Brooks? And how the hell does Kostner keep getting work, for that matter?
