LG announces first 32-inch plasma TV: does anyone care?
Even if it's not the first as LG is claiming it is, the 32PC5RV 32-inch plasma TV recently announced by the company is the smallest plasma TV to get a decent production run. Launching in Brazil this month and then worldwide in November, the 32PC5RV intends to muscle in on the most popular LCD TV size. The television will come with a relatively low price tag to lure buyers in at between $1,000 and $1,100: probably not low enough to beat lesser brands selling 42-inch 1080p plasmas at around that mark, and definitely not high enough specification to beat equivalently branded 32-inch LCDs what with the 32PC5RV featuring an abysmal 852x480 resolution, 550 lumen brightness, and a 1,800:1 contrast ratio. LG, you're gonna have to do better than that.

I guess they just can't make the pixels any smaller.

I dont know about a 1k price tag but I'd get it for either my bedroom or a guest room, no need to be obscenely big in either room

You know, if you consider a secondary TV, the price tag would need to change. I had a friend who picked up a 42in Panny 720p Plasma for $1099. Sometimes we have to consider not all ppl are going for cutting edge or anything near that. Plasmas seem to be a lot better for even non-HD content vs. LCD.

It is funny that they're calling it the "world's first" 32 inch plasma. Fujitsu, Philips, and a few others have all released 32 inch plasmas, several years back.

I'm interested if the resolution was at least 720P... Which the specs dont seem to be... This as a secondary TV would be nice... I'm just not a fan of LCD's, so this WOULD have been good if it promoted 720P inside it... Meh, maybe next time...
Wonder if this will be a black friday door buster for like $300 lol... I'd be all over it...
