Even Big lot's had them. That can't be good for sales. I own an Olevia, and for a budget hdtv I am extremely happy. Now Walmart has Vizio's. When Walmart starts carrying your brand you're in trouble. In fact, if one does a comparison with some of the earliest LCD display products from five years ago and what they cost it is natural to see mainstream consumers take a chance any buy an inexpensive flat panel.

Will it compete in picture quality with something costing $1-2K more? No, but then again mainstream consumers are not looking in that market. A P50HDM - 50" Plasma 720P and a GVL42 - 42" LCD 720P. After some tweaking of the settings the pictures are both great. They have been reliable so far. And Cheap. I am going to pick up a 32" or 37" Vizio this holiday season. Why, other brands in this price range do not have the picture quality. Sure their are better screens out there, but I can outfit my whole house in HD for the price of one top of the line set. I have $2,300 wrapped up between my two sets and have been enjoying them for about a year now. I could have got a better screen, but then I would have only been able get one tv.

In five years, I can upgrade to newer tech if it is warranted. AVSers complain about the quality but think of it this way: what's the point of having a $3000 display when cable and dish can't even give you a proper HD signal? Well to be honest with you way spend $1000 for a 46LCD from Vizio that is 720p or 1080p (for $1200) with like 2000:1 contrast ratio, u know the quality of your image will be shit, if u have cable u only get 1080i so i guess that will do, but if u got an blu ray or hd dvd play, a good set of monster cables like 400 series and up .. on a nice LCD like samsung LNT4665F that i got this summer (yeah i spend $3k on it with tax) u will see how good the image is in High Def ... also i wont need to buy a new tv for 3 years, ur $1000 Vizio is going to be so outdated by next year u wont be able to get $200 for it anywhere and it would be cheap crap. If ur lookin to buy a new tv every year, why not just spend more $$ get a really goood tv and have it for years to come and it wont be outdated

Dane Omazic

Comments on

You may have just lost all credibility when you said "but if u got...a good set of monster cables like 400 series and up...u will see how good the image is in High Def"

ryan

Comments on

You may have just lost all credibility when you said "but if u got...a good set of monster cables like 400 series and up...u will see how good the image is in High Def"

ryan

Comments on

I'm sorry, but Dane, you sound like a 15 year old salesperson from
Best Buy.

Chris

Comments on

You are an idiot who blows way to much money thinking you are getting better performance cause some kid with a part time job at Best Buy told you so.... as soon as you said 'monster cables' everyone knew you were a moron who knows absolutely nothing and got suckered by some kid at Best Buy.

But have fun thinking you are superior while everyone else has fun laughing at your dumb ass

KC

Comments on

hey dane, i hope you realize monster cables are a complete waste of your money. Yes the cable box only gives u 1080i but if u have enough $$ to get a Blu Ray or HD DVD u will see the difference on 1080p with a high contrast ratio tv and u can say all u want u know it is the truth.

As for Monster cables, you can say all you want, they are bad and not, but i would love to invite you over 2 my place, bring ur HDMI cables and lets see how good of a quality that gives vs. the Hi End cables i got. They are both Digital Cables, but it makes a big enough difference when you look for it.

At the end of the day yes TV is a tv and some choose to spend more $$$ for there TV vs. others who choose not to, and that is there choice and that was my choice, i wanted a best thing out there and i know no matter what it is not going to be some $1000 crap, it is like saying i am gonna buy a new BMW for $20k i am sure u all would laugh and be like, what piece of junk BMW is that. BMW and Ford are both cars, both have 4 wheels and get u from point A to point B so why do people buy a BMW ... well that answer can be debated all day and nite, and thats why some of us BUY better TVs vs. other people that don't

There is not need to be hating one anyone, i was just trying to get a point across, the more $$$ you spend the more options and better quality you get (not always but with technology you do). And if your in the market for a TV and don't wanna spend a lot of $$$ i would recommend you get a Vizio, but don't expect it to be the greatest thing out there by no means

Take a look at a Reviews From CNet, they are a very trusted source, been around for years and years and years ... and my TV happens to take spot #2, at the end of the day.

http://reviews.cnet.com/4321-6482_7-6591614.html?tag=prmo1

Dane Omazic

Comments on

uhhmm.. dane that still doesnt explain your outrageous "moster cable purchase"...

some poeple never learn.....

BTW very happy with our 60 inch 720p plasma...
Hd-DVD and Dish HD look great.

jmbear

Comments on

Yeah... you guys check consumer reports 2007 best buy list for LCD and Plasma's...

I think a 7 and 5 rating fare well considerering all the competition out there.

By the way look at all the competition they bested.
