The space on the disk has nothing to do with how "short" you think the game "feels" to you. Name a game on the PS3 that's better than either Halo3 or GoW, even with it's large space. Keep in mind also that Mass Effect has areas that the developers have never even been to yet because it's so expansive -- on a DVD.

If MS wants to release a 360 with an HD DVD player now, it actually kinda makes sense. Two years ago, no way - too expensive. Even a year ago, too expensive (as the PS3 proved). But at the end of 2008? Drive will be cheap, so why not? The tricky part is will any games need it? THERE WILL BE NO INNOVATION ON THE 360. SAME AS THE WII. BUT THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF THE SAME OLD ,SAME OLD. WHY. BECAUSE THERE IS NO ROOM FOR INNOVATION. THE 360 SMOTHER THE DESIRE FOR INNOVATION BY IT'S GRAPHIC/STORAGE LIMITATIONS, AND THE WII IS JUST A CLEVER GIMMICK THAT CAN BE REPLICATED ON THE PS3 CONSOLE THROUGH NEW CONTROLLER PATENTS/TECHNOLOGIES. JUST A MATTER OF TIME. THE FUTURE IS NOT IN THE SOFTWARE BUT IN THE POWER OF THE HARDWARE. MORE POWER/STORAGE, MORE POSSIBILITIES. THE SMALLER DEVELOPERS WILL THRIVE WHILE THE REHASHERS LIKE EA SPORTS,ETC. WILL JUST CONTINUE PUSHING CRAP ON THE 360 TO THEIR INSTALLED MARKETBASE BECAUSE YOU 360 IDIOTS SEEM TO LOVE THE "SAME OLD, SAME OLD". THAT SLOGAN/TALKING POINT, "THE GOOD GAMES ARE ON THE 360" WILL PROVE ITSELF TO BE FALSE SOON ENOUGH AS WE START TO SEE THE "INNOVATION" AFFORDED BY THE CELL TECHNOLOGY. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT HALO 3 AND TRY AND UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S MOST LIKELY THE BEST QUALITY GAME YOU WILL SEE ON THE 360 BECAUSE THAT IS THE MOST THAT THE 360 PROCESSING POWER IS CAPABLE OF. BUNGIE HAS ADMITTED IT TOOK SHORTCUTS TO MAKE SOMETHING PASSABLE AS AN HD GAME. NOW THEY WANT TO SEVER THEIR TIES WITH MICROSOFT BECAUSE THEY WANNA DO GAMES WITHOUT HARDWARE LIMITATIONS. I'M SURE THE DEVELOPERS KNOW THAT THE MONEY IS IN THAT FIRST SOLID INNOVATIVE PS3 TITLE. NOT THE SAME OLD, SAME OLD. THE 360 IS A CHEAP,POORLY MADE, SOON TO BE OUTDATED, LOW END GAMING PC WITH WIRELESS CONTROLLERS. If I'm going to buy a separate component, it might as well be a good one, like a Toshiba player.

JeffDM

Comments on

reply to "JeffDM"

"If I listen to the Dreamcast fans, that would be the PS2, though I think they'd argue that the PS2 was inferior."

PS2 was definetly more powerful than Dreamcast...its not to say the Dreamcast wasn't a great system, but the games on the PS2 definetly looked better. Was the PS2 MUCH MORE powerful...no.

I agree about the HD player...I'd rather have a stand alone player any day. It doesn't have much relevance in the mind of the consumer at this point. But, in about 9 months when the "HD war" becomes more lopsided, I'm positive it will gain market awareness....just like HDTV has.

Larry

Comments on

Does this mean HD DVD across the range or just on this new 'top of the line' version?

Smee
