DirecTV 11 delayed till Q1 2008
With all the new HD channels DirecTV is launching each week, it's easy to forget they have another satellite in the works. DirecTV 11 -- not to be confused with D10 that's already operational -- was scheduled to launch this year, but due to a delay at the launch company, it has been delayed till Q1 2008. We're not sure how much this will affect their plans for 150 HD channels, but if D10 is any indication, it will take just over two months after the launch to become operational.

I just want to know if this will delay Jessica Simpson's return as Daisy Duke in the DTV HD commercials...

Direct has added so many HD channels that the only thing left is to finish what they started - as in offering those listed in "Coming this Fall and Winter" HD channels on their website.
My understanding is now that D10 up and running it could conceivably do this and the ESPNHD News channel slated for next year (see article this site) might have to wait, possibly, until the D11 is up and running.
There could be some other HD channels that are listed that aren't found on the DirectvHD site area, too, for 2008 and no one knows for sure if the D11 was set for these channels.
So would those unlisted HD channels add up to 101-150 National HD channels? Maybe not.
Additionally, the delay could just mean for DirectvHD subs that the location you are living in that doesn't have any HD locals available from Directv will just have to wait a bit longer:
This is provided that the local HD channel provider wants to work with Directv and provide the HD signal; some have not in certain areas, for example, my location offers only 3 HD network affiliates, not the four, or even 5 (with CWHD or MyNtwkHD) locals.

The article about the "delay" was written 6 months before the article describing the December launch. Sounds like Engadget needs to reread their article and rehash the information together...correctly.
There isn't any indication that the 2nd date has changed, so we're probably looking at a very early 2008 turn-on date for the new HD channels on D11

You followed the wrong link. We only put the link we're talking about at the bottom and it says "read".

Touche...
I still will point out that the link says only a 2 week delay, so that doesn't seem so bad
