C'mon..it's naive to think the BD camp is putting all this extra DRM/security into their spec for the consumer. I've never read or heard of a single consumer advocating BD+, AACS, or any other form of DRM on their Blu-Ray discs.
Isn't it obvious that this security is being implemented in favor of (and probably at the request of) the industry? I'm sure if the MPAA could have it their way, we as consumers would have to download some 'Security Patch' update every week or more.
I've always been in favor of BD due to it's technical specs - but the BDA can only turn their back on the consumer in favor of the industry for so long. As Interested Watcher stated, it's ridiculous to think that the average av guy will put up with required 'updates' just to watch a retail movie he bought.
