All I want for Christmas is my HDTV... and an Apple
A national survey of 1,200 consumers conducted by Solutions Research Group found that 3 out of 4 surveyed Americans wanted a new gadget this holiday season. The rankings went a little something like this:
- HDTV (35%)
- Windows-based notebook (20%)
- Digital camera (17%)
- Windows-based desktop computer
- GPS car navigation
- Cellphone
- Digital video camera
- Nintendo Wii
- Sony PS3
- HD DVD or Blu-ray player

maybe able isnt in top10 because there is more than 110 million ipod sold so there is a lot less ppl that want apple product because:
a: they already have an ipod
b: they now know apple isnt that great, itunes really suck, its not user friendly
c: its cost a lot and you dont get much more
am surprised that blu-ray/hd dvd player is so high

iPods only cost more because their competition continually introduce "iPod Killers" that get relegated to the bargain bin within weeks of coming out.

Interesting that the ps3 is on there, but the xbox 360 isnt. Are things starting to look brighter for sony?

The funniest thing in that picture is the HDTV in the background showing CNBC-HD. Nice work!

Either this list is bogus or the American public really is that stupid. Nobody, if they knew better, would want a PS3.

I think your mistaking your bias for the stupidity of others...in fact, your the ignorant one...
When it comes to consumer electronics, the American public is certainly not stupid...they are excellent consumers...
Now Sony just needs to make sure that people understand a PS3 and a Blu-Ray player are one in the same...

That puts Blu-ray above HD DVD in mindshare since the PS3 - a Blu-ray player - is in the position right above the one dedicated to both HD DVD and Blu-ray.
This is good news for Sony and the rest of the BDA, not to mention those of us who chose Blu already.
A big "ha ha" goes to Paramount for accepting that payola to go HD DVD exclusive.

Yet another thread that proves I can't stand most of the people that comment here (or, rather, that I can't stand the way these people write and carry themselves in general). Eesh.

I am generally disturbed to see the PS3 is *still* an attractive item to so many people. It doesn't bode well for the future of gaming if Sony somehow wins this generation after all their arrogance, blunders, etc.
