I'm not sure what NME has to gain here - if they're the only one building for the VME format, how do they expect to do anything but lose money?
Well, they are supplying free authoring tools to studios for 6 months if they sign on, and they've been doing a pretty good job with it. And with a blue laser, HD VMD is supposed to be able to hold up to 60 GB.
