I'm sure HD-DVD will have similar issues as newly released movies take advantage of new features in later revs of the technology. I'm sticking to my wax cylinders until they get it all sorted out.
You still don't get it? That's what the whole point is! HD DVD doesn't have these problems. It was PROPERLY thought out and spec-ed out so any 1st or 5th generation of player would play the same and future discs without problems. THE ONLY problems that HD DVD titles might have would be with combos and it's simply because it's a very fresh technology. And even with those, with every player having mandatory ethernet and online connectivity updating firmware becomes even less of a problem.
