That's what the whole point is! HD DVD doesn't have these problems. It was PROPERLY thought out and spec-ed out so any 1st or 5th generation of player would play the same and future discs without problems. THE ONLY problems that HD DVD titles might have would be with combos and it's simply because it's a very fresh technology. I am no fanboy and like my HD DVD player, but when 3 of the last 3 discs I have rented skip or freeze. I can't say I am real happy about my jumping in to so-called "next generation".   My point is that maybe the stupid war shouldn't be won until both formats figure out the continual bugs. I dove into the HD movie game recently and went with the HD-DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 and have been getting movies from Netflix since.. I get some pretty rough looking discs and have never had a single playback issue on any of them yet. I don't recall ever having an issue with DVDs from Netflix (when the disc is in one piece heh heh) and Blu Ray has the armor coating.   Not to mention many issues with disc play issues on the Xbox add-on. This impacts two Blu-ray player manufacturers...LG and Samsung.  It does not impact Sony (including the PS3), Panasonic, or Pioneer.<br><br>This kink is nowhere near the monumental impact that was "The Matrix" when it first hit DVD. BD-J has. Children of Men HD-DVD initially didn't work on the XBox360.  Stuff like this happened with standard DVD too.  These are all standard early teething phases that are common for new technologies.<br><br>Still, this is stupid. Less than 12 seconds from hitting the button to seeing the first piracy warning.<br>That is just fine "loading" performance. <br>Does no one remember when DVD rolled out? We are not getting paid to test. If maybe we wait to buy, and only buy when it works thats when change will happen. I'm in the biz and if it says HDMI, BLU- RAY , HD DVD, EASY Programmable KEY PADS. I steer clear, I know I could make more money but I like being the Av guy people like or trust.
