Well Toshiba has HD DVD as standard in all of their laptops too now. Asus and Acer have been releasing HD DVD equipped laptops for a while now with quite a few models including their flagship models. HP has been also pushing HD DVD players more in their media laptops because they are cheaper.
Sure these companies have an option of Blu-Ray too, but the large number of their pre-built laptops come with HD DVD. So I'm not sure what you are saying that this one company is making HD DVDs in their laptops standard.
Even Sony is not making Blu-Ray drives in their laptops standard.
So far, the ONLY 1 laptop seller has been offering ready to ship models of laptops with Blu-Ray (that's Sony), the second one was Dell but it still had it as an option (custom built on their site).
