I believe this posting is simply Ben braggin'. In a recent podcast, he stated that he bought one of these Kuro sets. Now he's all a postin' about how great they are. Ben, you don't need to justify to us how great your TV is. I'm sure the extra 2 grand you spent to get a blacker shade of black is worth it. In your eyes.
Perhaps the title of this post should read as follows: "My name is Ben. My is bigger than yours."
Seriously though, I'm sure it's a great set. I'll put my...ahem...cards on the table and just say this: "720P." Scoreboard Ben. Until you can enjoy your super black screen in glorious 1080P, it's safe to assume that I'll be scoring more ladies with my Pannie 1080P plasma.
Tim, Since I've been married for a long time, I don't really care too much about attracting the ladies. But even when I did, the ones I dated didn't care much about what kind of TV I had.
But yeah, maybe these kuro stories catch my eye more because I have one, but I knew I was going to have one the second I saw them at CES this year.
Plus they don't cost thousands more, they aren't that expensive. I only spent 4500 for a 60-inch which I think is very reasonable. And also, I would have considered a 720p 60-inch if they made one, but they don't. The kuro line isn't about 1080p, it's about having the best contrast you can get.
If I had an extra 3 grand, I would pick up a 50" Kuro (not the 1080p, though). As it is, though, I have a Panasonic TH-42PX60U, which I bought on Black Friday for $999.99.

Oh yeah.
