Just like we've come to expect, when
Time Warner Cable adds new channels, so does Bright House Networks. And, the latest addition is eight new HD channels that we've recently seen added to other nationwide providers. We know TBS HD is already live in at least one BHN market, but we don't know exactly when the rest of these channels will be launched which include; Food Network, History Channel, HGTV, Discovery Science, The Learning Channel, Discovery and Animal Planet. Still no word on CNN HD, but we'd bet it is added before too long.

That just made my day, especially since it looks like TBS HD is already live in my area.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I've been begging for new HD what seems to be FOREVER now and Bright House finally comes through! It took them long enough with ESPN2HD. I just wish National Geographic HD was one of the channels being added. They show a lot of good crap on that station!

That will happen when they renegotiate the Fox O&O contracts.

I live in Michigan and have Bright House. Nothing yet. I checked there website for the latest news and they haven't updated in a while. I called them yesterday asking about new HD channels and they gave me the "we know nothing" answer. I really want tbsHD so I can watch the MLB playoffs in High Def.

This Scripps Howard deal (HGTV etc) was completed with the retransmission rights for the Scripps OTA TV Stations this Spring which is why Ben should have noted 629 on his local cable system a month ago and know this was coming.
Ben @ Sep 29th 2007 10:26AM
This would be true if I didn't switch to FIOS a few months ago.
AwlAmericanDawg @ Sep 29th 2007 10:27AM
wow are you serious 4 new HD channels for free for central Florida customers! That means we get about 13 HD channels at no charge. Finally bright house comes with some new HD channels I was gettin bored with the old ones.

Are the new HD channels using compression due to the cable architectures bandwidth limitations?
