Disney's Magical Blu-ray Disc Tour
Our friends over at Format War Central had the chance to stop by the mall when Disney's Magical Blu-ray Disc Tour was in town. Overall, it seems the presentation was impressive, including a 58-inch Panasonic plasma, Blu-ray player and a Yamaha surround sound system. Tyler liked the demo -- which included a few movies not even avaialble on Blu-ray like, Cars, Ratatouille , and Meet the Robinsons -- but couldn't help but laugh when they plugged Monster HDMI cables. We don't know about anyone else, but we'd rather seem them release more movies, than to go on tour.

Does anybody know if they mentioned the price of the players?

Ha ha ha..yes, that's what's magical about it. They show you Profile 1.0 players that actually won't be able to play most of the same groovy features Disney is so proud off and for some reason none of the prices are being shown, I guess not to scare customers away :)

More money well spent by Monster. Of that $120 you pay for that HDMI cable that extra $115 is going to places like Disney to pimp their product rather than into the cable itself.

There isn't a 60 inch Panasonic Plasma. They do 42, 50, 58, and then 65 inch ones. We can surely tell its not a 103 from all the photos online.

Must be a 58 inch, I'll edit the post and let Tyler know he screwed it up.

Monster and Disney must have a partnership...
If you buy the "new" Monster HDMI cables there is a mail-in form for a free BluRay movie from either Disney or Touchstone. Hence the plug, imo. (Also, some older Disney BluRay movies like Pirates had Monster ad pamphlets in the casing.

You incorrectly said it was a 60" Panasonic instead of a 58". Yet another reason HD-DVD is going to win the format war.
