I care about this channel... A LOT. So much so that I'm going to dump TW for Dish or DTV in a month or two so I can get it (and more HD too). I'm waiting to see how many channels they get, what deals they offer, and to compare their DVRs. But what's really driving me to change is TW refusal to work out a deal with NFL Network. But of course I'm a "big time NFL fan".
See, that's kind of what my point is, the NFL Network would love to make it sound like it's all the provider's fault for not carrying it. The NFL Network wants to force all providers to put them in the Basic tiers, and additionally, they want a good chunk from all subscribers of the network. This is one thing, but then when they immediately start putting games on their brand new network, and tell fans to blame their provider for not carrying it. The NFL's tactics with this network have been very much like the big bully that is trying to convince everyone to do what they want. While I wouldn't mind the channel (granted I wouldn't watch much, college football is millions of times better than pro), I don't agree with how the NFL has tried to force it on providers and will support Time Warner's stance on it.
