The editorial suggests it's ugly, which I don't agree, but that's an honest opinion on both sides. The looks of a projector doesn't really seem to matter much. You don't actually look at it when it's in operation.
I have Epson's 1080 model, I think it's kind of odd looking, but most guests don't seem to notice it at all unless it's pointed out. And this is despite being ceiling mounted with only a couple fans and some lights on the ceiling, it's not hiding. I have a 21" computer monitor in my home theater rack and people often think THAT is my TV.
