Good riddance!! You screwed up Transformers with your cheezy loose plot directing anyway. You've just done the Transformers franchise a huge favor.
What a bunch of babies. For months, studios were stacked up against HDDVD with all sorts of exclusive deals from hell. Did any directors complain then that Fox or disney were only available to Blu-ray? No. Now, the playing field has been evened out somewhat, and everyone is acting like milk starved 4 month olds.
And what does he mean by "best formats available"? Has he compared HDDVD to Blu-ray side-by-side with identical titles? Does he not know that in most cases, they look and sound identical, but whenever there's a difference, HDDVD comes out looking better?
Someone pull out a t!t for Michael bay to suck on. And while we're at it, someone pull out another one for you engadget hd guys. Your anti HDDVD slant is becoming more and more obvious. Since you posted this Paramount thing, you've failed to reference all the positive feedback Paramount is getting from the HD group. Instead, you're cheerleading for all the people bashing paramount...making sure THEIR story is heard.
He meant that if you have a blu-ray player, you should have the CHOICE to buy Transformers on blu-ray. Which is why he empasized that Paramount was progressive by offering both formats (choice) until now.
Paramount was asking for this, they are a bunch of morons. Freedom of choice for consumers - and given that Blu-Ray outsells HD-DVD by at least 2:1, their move is beyond stupid!
I praise Michael Bay for this decision, and i moreso praise Steven Speilberg for his continued support for Blu-Ray.
Paramount is doomed. It sucks to be them right now, with PIXAR animations and Spider Man coming to blu-ray in the next months, it'll really be a kick in the face.
The only good thing that came from Paramount was Transformers and Stuff directed by Spielberg.
