"They forgot to mention that this feature won't work on any of the existing player or players sold before end of this year, unless you have $2000 Denon Blu-Ray player. And it's actually questionable whether or not it will work on PS3 as I still haven't heard that PS3 will get Profile 1.1 firmware update."
It's not a profile 1.1 feature. That will come on next year's Chronicles of Narnia release, as was announced earlier this week. PS3 certainly has the hardware for 1.1, so a software update should be all it needs.
"Well if this one works "as well as" Pirates of The Carribean Liar's Dice, blocking a player for a few minutes, then constantly looping and freezing, then thanks but I'll pass."
Sounds like someone didn't update their firmware. Liar's Dice works great on mine.
it is a 1.1 feature as it requires a secondary video decoder in order to show PiP.
Btw, it hasn't been confirmed that PS3 will get 1.1. It's purely speculation and I would assume that it might be a problem as they would already announce it. PS3 doesn't have a secondary video decoder, however it has enough processing power to do it through software. Whether it will do it not, is really something that nobody can answer at this moment.
